Daniel Padilla, age 91, passed away Monday December 21, 2015. Beloved husband of 64 years to Carmen (nee Arteaga) Padilla; loving father of Olga (John) Wiss, Cindy (Leonard) Renz and Daniel (Myia) Padilla; proud grandfather of Jaclyn (Joseph), Casey (Tracey), Ellie, Elizabeth and Quinn; dear son of the late Thomas & Arnulfa Padilla; dearest brother of Carmela (Tony) Delgado, Genevieve Padilla and Eloise (Pete) Santoyo and the late Carmel, Pablo, Frank Thomas, David (Sara) Padilla, Rose (Thomas) Villanueva, Eleanor (John) Almanza and Augustina (Nicolas) Rodriguez; cherished uncle and great uncle to many loving nieces and nephews; cherished adopted father-in-law to Philene Lortz; loved by his adopted daughters Lydia, Jessica, Maria, Alena and Roma-the best caregivers a man can ask for. Daniel was born in Austin, Texas and resided in Willow Springs, Illinois for 43 years, where he enjoyed being with his family, his yard, music and exercise. Daniel proudly served in the United States Army during World War II as Private 1st Class in Company L 114th Infantry as Rifleman and Scout, American Theatre Campaign Medal, EAME Campaign Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, World War II Victory Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
