Marjorie M. Anderson
Marjorie M. Anderson, 85, (nee Rogers) who helped create the Calumet Park Public Library in the early 1960s, died Sunday, Sept. 17. The cause was complications from dementia. Mrs. Anderson and her late husband, Louis L. Anderson, also were active in the Calumet Park Recreation Association when that group built a community swimming pool in the 1960s; he eventually became the group's president. Mrs. Anderson worked several years as a secretary at Edward J. Hines Lumber. Her parents, Clare Rogers and Rose Geletka, and her stepfather, John Geletka, predeceased her. She is survived by three sons, Richard R. (Kathleen); Robert L.; and Kevin J. (Michelle); a daughter, Maureen A. (Scott) Altmann; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Visitation is from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the Lawn Funeral Home, 7732 W. 159th St., Orland Park; mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 9300 W. 167th St., Orland Hills. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer's Association.
