Eric James Korngoot

Korngoot, Eric James "Rick" On Sunday, February 11, Eric James Korngoot, left this world suddenly. Rick, or "Ricky," as he was known to many, is survived by his loving son Max, former partner Dawn Sopoci and daughter Ashley. Devoted son to Irwin Korngoot and Phyllis (Yochelson) Korngoot, who preceded him in death. Caring brother to Judi (Steve) Blitstein and like-a-brother to his cousin Beth Brauer-Delaney. Uncle Ricky or "Icky" was the most unpredictable and fun uncle to his nieces and nephews: Cyle, Ryan, Molly and Jack Blitstein and Seren and Brynn Delaney. He was loved and cherished by many cousins, aunts and uncles. Rick was a legend in his own rite. A graduate of Homewood Flossmoor High School, he may have been among the first to receive a standing ovation during his graduation ceremony. For many years, Rick built a business as a reconstruction contractor. He was a master and visionary in his craft and an amazing friend. Rick was happiest on the golf course, at a Blackhawk's game, performing an impromptu concert anywhere he found a piano and, most of all, Rick loved to spend time with his family and friends. He was a firm believer in "the more, the merrier." Always one to reach out to those in need, he truly had a heart of gold. He loved deeply, felt passionately and lived with the utmost spontaneity and zest.
